How can I run older versions of glider ???

I have read some posts here that you can get account perm ban with older versions of glider however I dont get it how is it posible to run older versions at all ? Because whenever I try to run older version it always says something like failed to retrieve offsets - this version of glider is not safe to use with the game or this version of glider cannot be used with client 2.1 or newer etc...
So is it posible to use older glider version,and if so,how ?

Some older versions still work, some don't.

Well whatever version prior to 1.5 I try I always get error saying its not safe to use and then it just sits there and wont attach itself to wow.Does anyone have any more info on this please ?
