If you do not know what Pather is, well you can always look it up or use the search button, but sorry if this is kind of mean, but this post is mainly for people who DO know what Ppather is.
A lot of the information used in this post was actually received at taskparser.com.
What is Task Parser?: The goal of the taskparser site is to try to have all the quests possible available in pather script format. It has been initially seeded by a parser. Some of the quests will work right out of the generator, but alot of them will not work, or be inefficient.
I guess you could say Task Parser is still at it's trial phases as it was only released, recently, so not every thing on the site may be completely working but at least it is making all of you glider's jobs a whole lot easier!
To get started you need to register and login. Then click on the parsequests tab
and select the necesarry parameters for the quests you want to test. What Task
Parser warns you of is the fact that, THIS IS NOT A 1-CLICK WAY TO 70. The
database is full of locations that's not valid, quests that the generator thought
was valid quests, so it'll need to be marked as not working, quests that the
generator didn't recognize the quest objectives at all and other things.
If you come across a quest that isn't working, click the edit quest tab and type in the questId in the topleft textbox and click get quest. That will make all the forms fill up with the current quest information for that quest in the database. Then you edit the quest to make it work, or mark it as not working. Write a little comment on what you did and click submit.
You can use Task Parser for your grinding or questing needs with Vendoring included.
Pather is a pretty much safe (never 100% safe) program that basically has a mind of it's own. It is considered to be much smarter than normal Gliding but the problem is, finding the tasks to run. Task Parser is here now to solve that problem! Although there are still many errors occurring, Task Parser is there to supply you with your Tasks.
Now the only way Task Parser can get better is from learning from there mistakes, so every time you experience a problem, just think.. by reporting the error, you are informing the scripters that there is an error, and when they fix it.. it is gone!
For more information on this, or Glider, or even Pather, please just feel free to ask me when ever you feel you are in need of help.
I also, have nothing to do with Glider / Pather / Task Parser at all. Or at least, I am not a creator or any thing important like that. Just a customer
FAQ------
I think I found a bug, where do i send it to?
Excellent! Send the bug to [email protected]
My character isn't picking up a quest he should have picked up!
If your character doesn't pickup a quest he should do, then make sure that the quest is actually in your tasks.psc, if it is, make sure that it has completed all the prequests for that quest. If it still doesn't pick it up, check if the questlevel for this quest is low enough and that all classes can actually do this quest at that level. If it is, edit the quest and set both the condition in the task edit box and the questlevel in the leftside menu to the appropriate level and submit a revision.
How do I figure out if a quest is bugged or not?
This can be hard sometimes, but generally, if you see your character running in "circles" over a small area, usually the locations for that quest is wrong. What you have to do is open up Form1, browse down to the current task that pather is doing and figure out what it's trying to do and why it isn't working, then you fix that quest and make sure it is working on your end before you post a revision to that quest.
I submitted a revision, but nothing happened! What's going on?
After you submit a revision, it has to be manually checked, so that we ensure that a minimal amount of corrupted data ends up in our system.
I'm sorry if this is quite a bit of text, but to those of you Gliders, that can actually benefit from reading this, I am sure you are used to the long endless text walls, included in the process of learning more information on your Gliding Techniques.
Thank you and I hope this helped you some how.
If it didn't, than I am not too surprised since I haven't seen many people
here actually using PPather.
(I did search before posting this and barely any thing came up for Pather, and absolutely nothing came up for Task Parser)
Please be sure to let me know if I can help you in any way.
Thank you.
