Can i really get in trouble for this?

"Just thought i'd let you know that i will be taking our conversation and this email address to the sheriffs office tomorrow and seeing to it that an investigation is launched against you. If I were you i'd be pretty scarred... they call what your doing fraud.. thats a felony.. can you say "FELONY" that means prison big guy. I sure as hell hope you don't live in the united states."

The guy I tried to scam send me this email..... but i don't know how he got it anyways... but w/e i'm just wondering if it is possible for something to happen... I already talked to one person, and he said nothing was going to happen... it''s just im scared shitless because i'm only 15 and i don't wanna go to juvy or something...

He's doing that just to scare you, I understand why you are scared but you shouldn't be. This kid can't do you any harm, he's just, yeah, getting you scared.

See, and Phygar is still here with us! People sending me emails havn't happend to me but almost everyone I scam end up saying like:
"Okay, I just called the police expect to have the police knocking on your door tomorrow" or
"Okay, my mom is a police and we have this super uber tracking program so we know where you live now" just respond with something like "Yeh, where do I live?" You'll see that most of them will just reply with I wont tell you haha we're coming now aka they're lying. If they just go online it speaks for itself, they're lying.

Haha, well, he might just be bluffing, but if you didn't use a proxy while sending the email, I'd kinda be worried..

He might somehow get a hold of your IP, turn it over to your ISP, and they'll release your info to the cops. XD

Oh if you used AIM, you SHOULD be fine... I don't think he can do much w/ the AIM convos, because those can be easily made up.

Even through he got your IP it doesn't matter much. Just change it if you're on a dynamic. Shut down your router and modem leave it like that for a while and boot up everything again.

Shutting down computer is a waste of time XD It doesn't change IP. Just restart your modem + router and you should be fine, but your ISP stil has track of the IP you use, doesn't it? If you're reported to the ISP you can get in trouble.

Rofl, edited. I blame the lack of sleep!

Anyway, I don't think the ISP will hand out your adress unless it's something very serious. Anyway, this is useless to discuss as it doesn't help the poster.

He shouldn't be worried, getting someones IP through a mail isn't something a normal nerd just do like that, takes some knowledge which like not very many people have.

No one will do anything unless there was actual money, goods, or identity theft. If that was the case if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.
