Double casting out of rotation spells

Not sure if anyone still reads this section or not.

Here is the question:
I am a mage. I need to blink or shimmer. So my rotation is going and I click my shimmer button.

It casts shimmer twice. Obviously, this is not ideal.

Is there any way to have certain spells never cast or just ignored?

Hopefully someone is out there still reading this section !!

So I was raiding last night and the answer to this question came to me. lol

Create a macro for the spell and replace it on your bar:

/run CastSpellByName('SPELLNAME');

Thats it...
