How to: Blizzlike Items
Let's assume you have a private server. You're wanting to be the best you can, so you're adding custom bosses. But you want these epic new kills to be worthwhile right? Well, why not add some epic new items!
(Or maybe you just want to get some good WoW-V rep. either way this guides for you)
There are two things you can do for your boss drops:
1. Make OP items with 999999 of every stat drop from these encounters, making the server boring, uncreative, and removing all replay value. (Why kill the boss again? You have the best gear!)
OR, 2, you can make some nice, blizzlike, non-OP items making everything worthwhile!
Step 1: Making Your Account
(SKIP STEP 1 YOU HAVE A WOW-V ACCOUNT)First things first. Joining WoW-V. Find the URL bar at the top of your screen. Delete everything inside of it. Now punch in WoW-V.com. You will be greeted to a cool looking gray-and-gold page. Find the "Register" button, and click on it. Type in the requested information, and Ta-da! Click I accept, and you have a spiffy new WoW-V account.
Step 2: Finding the Creator and Selecting the Weapon Type.
Now we choose what type of item we want to make. You can explore all the options later, but for now let's stick with a basic 1h sword. Click on "Create" Click on "Weapons" and BAM, you're in the creator.
Step 3: Naming you're item.
Ok, so we are going to make a 1h sword. It needs a name and a role. Should it be a DPS caster blade? A tanking blade to wield alongside a Shield? Maybe even a melee DPS sword. For this guide, we'll pick a Melee DPS blade. But we need a spiffy name to go with it. We'll pretend it's an epic weapon that drops off the Lich King (NEVER EVER EVER MAKE FROSTMOURNE). What did Arthas do in his life? He betrayed his people. Almost like he was confused, using Forstmourne to kill his people when he wanted to save them; Hey! Theres a word! Confused! Lets use that. Blade of Confusion. Hmm.... needs working. Blade is a very simple word. Let's use something else... what is a "blade" Its a point, a shar thing, it has an edge... theres a word! Edge! Lets place that in: Edge of Confusion. Still something missing... the word Confusion could use an Adjective to go with it. Let's think... what happened when Arthas became the Lich King... he became unholy! Let's toss that in: Edge of Unholy Confusion. Now THAT'S a good name.
Naming tip 1: Don't include names such as Darkwiz787 or Rachel or Danny. you COULD give the sword itself a name, I.E Val'nyr Hammer of Ancient Kings
Naming Tip 2: Avoid words like "Epic", "Noob", "Fail", "Pwn", or "Super Haxing 1337 @xe of PwNiNg U"
Step 3: What should it look like?.
Ok, so we have a name and a role for the Edge of Unholy Confusion. But what should it look like? To find this, we use WoW Model Viewer to find a decent look. That can be Dowloaded here.
Unzip the Zipped file and extract it wherever the @#$% you want. Run the .EXE and wait a little bit, it will be starting up. Once it opens, click on the bar on the left side. Goto "Character" --> "Blood elf" --> "Female" --> Bloodelffemale.m2. Now on the right side click on Left Hand or Right hand, it doesn't matter. A window will open up. Uncheck all the boxes execpt for 1H Swords. Now scroll through the list until you find a decent blade. When you do, look at the 1st set of numbers (in the [brackets].) and copy it into the Display ID box on WoW-V.com. Congrats you now have a weapon that looks cool, but does N-O-T-H-I-N-G.
Item looks tip: Going into the "UnseenItem" Section of items, you can find hidden display ID's.
Step 4: Stats. Yay.
Ok, so we have a name and a role and a look for The Edge of Unholy Confusion, but it does nothing... oh happy days...
Let's fix this. You'll notice a Entry ID box. Leave it blank. Quote should be left blank, with the exception of certain few items that have a bit of lore behind them, quality should be epic. Scroll down. Select 1h beside equip, 1h sword beside type, weapon/shield beside repair, and 75-120 for durability. And of course, binds on pickup. Now for the ITEM WEAPON STATS. Sheath should be 1h, no ammo, and speed should be 1400 to 1600. (Its entered in MS, so 1400 is 1.40). For 2h's it should be speed 3.40 to 3.60.Scroll right past the armor and block stats, (Only good if used on Shields/Armor). Now select level requirement. For today it's gonna be 80. Item level is anything you want, but for Lich King I think it should be 252. The item doesn't need to be unique, but put 1 in the max number allowed if you must. Let every race and class use it, and don't make it stack. Now for the damage. Go to WoWhead.com and navigate to the High item level 1H swords. find one with the same speed as yours and copy its damage into WoW-V. But we dont wanna copy, do we? So because it's LK, add 30 damage give or take. I put emphasis on give or take.Back to Wowhead Find the stats of the same high level blade. These are the stats a rogue will need. (If the weapon has Spellpower on it, do NOT use it. Find another blade.) Copy over the stats, and add a few points to them to make it seem like a high level item. Resistance and Item bonuses are avoided on blizzlike that aren't legendary, and for sockets it doesn't matter. Just give it one or two. Buy Price and sell price are not used much, because that can be modified in game. Click submit, and choose if you want to keep it for yourself or share it publicly. My guide is NOT an SQL guide, do NOT ask me how to use the item.
