Faction Change Service Now Available in Europe

Well, the wait is over for those World of Warcraft players on the European realms who are tired of playing that Night Elf Warrior, or to those who want to go play with their friends who play on an opposing faction.

Blizzard Europe announced recently that they will be extending their popular faction change service to European realms as well as US.

Each faction change costs 25.00 Euros or 20.00 Pounds. This covers a single faction change for a single character. To begin the faction change process, please visit your Account Management page at Wow-Europe.com, select the "Faction Change" option and carefully follow the instructions provided.

The Faction Change service only allows one change per transaction. If you would like to change multiple characters’ factions, you will need to pay for each one separately.

I for one am excited about this as well, as I have recently began playing a Shaman on a European realm. The new faction changes, in combination with the changes recently made to pvp realms allowing multiple factions on the same realm with no-doubt cause a large number of players to invest in the faction change operation due to previously playing different factions because of restrictions.

Each faction change purchase will also provide the target character with an included re-customization and optional name change. So if you were thinking of a name change or re-customization anyway, why not just include it in your faction change at a reasonable 25 Euros!?

Don’t expect this to be the new PvP “flavor of the week” though, as faction changes are restricted to one time every 60 days. Also note that upon completing a faction change, No faction-only items will be carried with you in the transfer. This means, for example- if you are an Orc and you possess the Racial Wolf mount, and you become a human, you will now possess the Human racial mount instead of the Horde mount. Tier items that were released in the 3.2 patch will also change in the same way, to the corresponding faction’s item set.

Now, for those of you wanting to change your race and not your faction, you’re not totally out of luck according to this recent quote by Blizzard.

“We would also like to inform everyone that we will be offering a Race Change Service in the future. This decision was based largely on community feedback, and often in regards to the Faction Change service. Players who choose to switch races will be able to change their race within their same faction and class. Additional information and updates about Race Changes will be published at a future date.”
