    OwnedCore Report #80 - 8.2 >Sponsored by Eldorado<

Welcome to the 80th Report. Another week of gaming news to talk about. For starters we witnessed Riot's Auto Chess clone Teamfight Tactics blow up on Twitch being a top 1-2 game all week, also we got some interesting information on World of Warcraft about 8.2 and what's to probably come in the future expansions, and lastly we talk about Harry Potter: Wizards Unite which seems to be an actual competitor to Pokemon Go oddly enough.

Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates to OC, sharing our hottest threads, and great memes.

The team behind Eldorado started trading almost 10 years ago. Since then we have bought and sold billions in in-game gold and millions of items in RuneScape, Path of Exile, World of Warcraft, Rocket League, CS:GO, and more. As buyers, sellers and gamers, we have seen it all, from honest-to-goodness dealers to scam victims with zero customer support. Harnessing years of experience and love for the market, and with a strong belief that together we can revolutionise in-game trading, we set out to build what Eldorado is today — a secure, easy-to-use marketplace with sterling support that empowers both sides of the trading community.

    Teamfight Tactics

Last week (OwnedCore Report #79 - Top E3 Announcements >Sponsored by Eldorado<) we went over all the Auto Chess clones coming out by both Valve and Riot but also future AAA companies on the horizon. This week was interesting because we got to see how they shaped up going against each other. The Valve vs Riot was strong this week and the League of Legends fan base was just too strong on this one. Teamfight Tactics has been a top 5 game on Twitch all week and some days was consistently higher than Fortnite. So what makes Teamfight Tactics so appealing for Twitch viewers over Valve's Dota Underlord's that also came out with even more features like Ranked and Mobile already baked in?

    • League has a huge streamer fanbase. If you watch Twitch you know that League for years was the #1 game always until Fortnite and even after Fortnite never fell that far below 3-4. The game has a massive streamer audience and due to this has a massive outreach. It's free marketing for Riot to millions.

    • It's already in the client. To me this is huge. Even though it is on PBE right now and not the actual client, it's not stand alone like Valves. This can be seen as a plus and a minus. Valves being stand alone means it has its own identity away from the MOBA Dota 2 now, its numbers are its own, and it has it's own team. But what it lost was a lot of Dota 2 players playing it because they were already on Dota 2 and bored. A lot of people who played it casually who were Dota 2 players probably don't play Underlords as much as they did the mod when it was on the client. With League its the opposite because it is on the client.

    • It has a nicer UI and a cool carousal addition. The main complaint so far about Dota Underlords is how it looks like a mobile game ported to PC. It lacks that magic. League's isn't perfect either but it's brighter, doesn't feel like your playing alone in a dungeon, and they even added a new mechanic. This carousal mechanic uses the courier to pick units that are walking in a circle to add to your team. This serves as a catch up mechanic because the worse your doing the earlier you get to make your pick.

Does all of this mean that Teamfight Tactics won the Auto Chess war? Absolutely not. I think if anything its insane popularity this past week won't stick long term but Valve definitely needs to step it up to not lose to many players to this game since it's open to all accounts on the main client in just 2 days. Personally I like Underlords more as a game but the look and feel of it is just not good and very rushed. It lacks hotkeys like the mod, it lacks couriers to play around with, it lacks so many quality of life features that can't be ignored but on the same token so does Teamfight Tactics, they just had a bigger fan-base to push it even with all of its flaws.

    8.2

This week comes the patch people have been waiting for. The one that would save BFA they said. Well lets see what exactly is coming in this long awaited patch.

[list]Azshara's Eternal Palace - New Raid
This 8 boss raid features not only the iconic Azshara who Ion says holds secrets which you learn after killing her (not sure if Mythic only or not) but also an underwater boss fight which will be the first ever in World of Warcraft.

    • Mechagon

This is a new zone that a lot of people are comparing to a Timeless Isle-esque zone but on steroids. Mechagon is the capital of the Mechagnomes and includes a psuedo-profession called Junkyard training for that zone, endless grinds if your into that sort of things, and actual rare spawns with long timers.

    • Operation: Mechagon

This is a new mega-dungeon which is what they are calling dungeons like Karazhan from Legion. Operation: Mechagon is a mythic-only dungeon that includes 8 bosses.

    • PvP

A new arena called Mechagon Arena and a new Battleground called....wait for it....Ashran! Oh how great it will be to keep tabs on the feedback on Ashran now that it is coming back.

    • Island Expeditions

The PvP/PvE hybrid Island Expeditions will see 2 new additions called Crestfall and Snowblossom added into their pool.

    • Gnome and Tauren heritage armor

All in all it is a very big patch. No major class design changes but check out the video above to hear some interesting thoughts by Ion and what might come in 9.0 aka the next expansion.

    Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

The competition for Pogo is on. On June 20th Niantic announced their new game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be available on iOS and Android. It has already made a huge splash in the mobile gaming community and seems to be a Pokemon Go but with things like talent trees, spells you can cast, Inns to stop by and collect food and drink, and more. We here on OC plan on adding a section for this game as it grows! If anybody has been playing it I will announce on our social media and the next Report when it's released.
