The last Report of 2018 is here. This was a great year for OC and hopefully we as a community can keep it great for many years to come. I hope everybody who is celebrating is safe tonight and for those in the future and it's already 2019 I hope you set you're goals high and meet them swiftly. This week we are going to have the community highlights, clips, some news, a new podcast interview with Hazzbazzy, and I decided to look up some of the top threads by view count over the past year and re-share them. Things I didn't include were hack threads, services, and stuff of that nature and focused on more exploits, guides, general threads, etc.

Blizzard and Twitch

A very interesting thing is happening with Blizzard and Twitch. Blizzard is now forcing you to link your Battle.net account to your Twitch account in order to chat in their eSport channels. They want to bring "a more positive viewing experience." People are pretty mixed on reviews with this. One side thinks this is great for chat moderation and will keep people from being less toxic because now they can have their Blizzard accounts punished if they are promoting some sort of hate speech or bullying. On the other hand people think this is a huge overstep by Blizzard and shows more and more how out of touch they are. "If you want chat to be moderated just pay mods to clean it up" is what Asmongold recently said on stream about this. To me this all stems back from the XQC Trihard emote spam situation. If you don't know what that is basically a former pro Overwatch player was banned from competing because he spammed Trihard in chat when the black commentator was on screen. To some, and even Blizzard, this was a sign of racism. To others its just how Twitch chat reacts. Now to avoid this situation completely Blizzard is doing this new integrated Battle.net/Twitch chat system. It should be very interesting to see what the punishments will be.

Top 5 Threads of 2018

It is no surprise that an Advanta thread makes this list. At number 5 we have his WoW Leveling Exploit Guide for BFA 8.0.1, 1-120, Fast Leveling Methods. This thread was posted late September and included a video almost 40 minutes in length going over anything you could want to know about exploiting in BFA and how to level to 120 as fast as possible. What else could anybody want to know at that point in time?!

People love leveling fast in WoW. For the second time in the top 5 we have another thread including ways to level fast. Rianoriz back in May submitted a thread including a ton of BFA Speed Leveling Items. He even formats them by what type of item they are and what it does. Good information, good formatting, and giving the people a way to level fast? No wonder this made top 5.

It's all about the V Bucks baby. Fortnite took 2018 by storm and has changed gaming, streaming, and the main stream influence on both of those forever. With a huge influx in Fortnite players came a huge influx of people wanting cosmetics which require V Bucks to buy. RG101 back in April found a way using a VPN to buy V Bucks cheaper by setting you're VPN to Argentina. This is a common method actually used in things like WoW and Blizzard Store for many years in the past so to see it occur again was no surprise. But before it got fixed many people got to obtain V Bucks at a heavily discounted price thanks to RG101!

Faction reputation grinding has been a staple in every WoW expansion to date so it is no wonder that when a thread titled "Exalted with any faction" popped up on the WoW Exploit section it caught a lot of traction. Mollyy posted this thread back in August explaining a way to use World Quests to get yourself Exalted with any faction faster than intended by Blizzard. This was an exploit that was pretty much a ban/suspension waiting to happen but it was one of the most game breaking things you could do in WoW at that time.

The update was that this user could not be trusted but regardless it got a ton of traction and was never deleted so it makes the list.

At a whopping 72k views the number one thread this year was by Lolilolilol. This thread was titled "Get your mogs/heirlooms from Banned Account" There was a new GDPR Data Request that could be used on EU only to get all you're banned characters on one account connected to the one you use therefore giving you all the mogs, heirlooms, and achievements. From what I read in the comments this was never implemented into the US as of yet but EU, Asia, Middle East, and Russia got to reap the benefits. Definitely a thread worthy of #1 of the year congrats.
