    Community Highlights

Timewalking is the way to go if you're leveling an alt due to the sheer EXP it is giving. Thanks to Eseleme for breaking it all down for us in a short and sweet thread.

Gaming News from Around the Globe

    RAoV

Random Acts of Violence, a notorious hacking group, were issued a cease and desist from Blizzard.

RAoV community will cease and to be used for its original purpose. RAoV community will effectively be shut down and will no longer encourage the use of any malicious intent towards Blizzaard Entertainment or its affiliates.
Let this serve as a warning to all.
Advanta breaks it down in the video above but it seems the main focus is that RAoV used 3rd party hacking tools which might be what broke the camels back as far as Blizzard feeling the need to use legal action. This is a huge blow to a legendary group who has actually posted stuff right here on OC.

    Path of Exile Betrayal

Path of Exile's newest addition to an already astonishing game has been announced and is called Betrayal. Betrayal is POE's newest expansion and will be playable on December 7th for the PC and a few weeks after for PS4. What is new?

    • Immortal Syndicates

You can run into Syndicate activity out in the world and this Syndicate can be from one of four branches. When you run into a Syndicate you can interrogate, bargain, execute, or betray them. Think of yourself as a detective. Each of these creates a new dynamic. Interrogation gives you intel on the location of a safehouse which eventually can be raided for more access to Syndicate members. Bargaining gives you the most options but can also be the most rewarding. Executing would do exactly what you think it does, kill the Syndicate. The weird thing is the Syndicate you execute can be brought back to life. Betrayal is an option only available when more than 1 Syndicate member is present and than you can have one betray the other. Essentially you are doing all of this to create a Syndicate system that benefits your character and the build you are running.

There is a lot more to this, that was a rough breakdown but essentially that is the Syndicate system.

    • New Master Crafting

This change is huge. You will not need to repeat Master missions to learn master crafting recipes anymore. The recipes are now rewarded to you by doing challenges within the master mission.

    • Hideout rework

Players will now have a unified hideout that is used across all leagues. This is big because you will not have to grind to craft a new one for each league. The best part about this is the fact that you can save and upload the template meaning you can quickly load your setup but also share it with others.

    • Forsaken Masters

The four old masters have vanished and we now have Einhar, Alva, Niko, Zana, and Jun Ortoi. Einhar from Bestiary will now basically do the hunting for you. A huge rework from the highly hated Bestiary system. These new masters bring all the content from their old leagues. So Bestiary, Incursion, and Delve will all now be in the base game.

    • New Maps, Items, and more

All in all this expansion is gonna be juicy and packed with content. December 7th can't come soon enough!

    No more Re-Deploy

Fortnite is known for changing the game very frequently. Things like map changes, weapon additions, and even mechanic changes are all things thrown at us on live servers almost weekly it feels like. The issue here is a lot of these things are considered "tests" and Epic Games is essentially using live servers as a form of PTR. If it works, why not. The latest addition/removal that has everybody talking is the re-deployment of you're glider when jumping or falling from a height that would cause fall damage if you landed on the ground. This is about 3 stories in Fortnite high. The base game never had this mechanic. If you built high up and got shot down you had to quickly throw down a jump pad (which allowed re-deployment since the beginning), use an impulse grenade to break your fall, and many other ways otherwise you would die or take a ton of base health damage. The re-deployment of gliders got rid of all of this and more.

When they added the re-deployment of gliders now if you didn't have a way to break your fall it was pretty much fine and dandy. Just hit space bar and re-deploy the glider and approach the ground in a nice and safe manner. This also added a new level to the game as far as speed. To get around the map all you had to do was build a ramp about 5-6 stories high and jump off and glide to your next destination whereas in the past you had to run, use movement utility items such as impulse grenades, or find a vehicle. People started getting used to this new meta and it came with a bunch of mixed reactions. Some thought it took away from the skill of finding ways to land safetly and others thought it made the game more fun. At the end of the day Epic took re-deployment out in last Thursdays patch and people are kind of pissed that they keep using live servers as a test server because they were just finally getting used to this being a part of the games core.

    No Sony at E3 2019

Sony announced that they will not be at this years E3 for the first time ever. This is essentially all because of the PS5. Now before there were rumors that the PS5 would be teased at this years E3 but since that can't happen we have to assume Sony is instead taking this year off to get ready for 2020's announcement of PS5. With the new generation of consoles right around the corner Sony is probably making a ton of games already for the PS5 including GOTY status exclusives like we got on PS4 such as God of War. I just hope The Last of Us 2 comes out sooner than later.
