I think the word you're looking for is remixed / parody?, I don't think attempting to belittle other peoples work is going to up your chances at winning a spectral tiger . by no means was I trying to fool anyone lol! Being a chart topper in countries around the world and all ---> Diamonds (Rihanna song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , I thought everyone's ears has heard this song / would instantly recognize it , which is why i selected it in the first place! sorry for any misunderstandings !

Weird Al got into a lawsuit once for parodying/remixing a Coolio song.

Unless you're paying rights to Rihanna for that song (or whoever wrote the lyrics), then yes, you'd be ripping it off.

Edit --- It's not about knocking your poem down to make mine look better - OP stated he wanted poems to be original. There are plenty posted here that are original that I haven't made any comments about. Sorry if you take it as a personal attack. It's really not.
