    CPU upgrade help

    Basically I am looking to upgrade my CPU as it is the weak spot in my current computer. I only really play WoW anymore, so I am not looking to dump a ton of money into my computer at this time, but currently in SoO 25m raids my fps are horrific, Malkarok I drop to single digit fps on the pull, and never get over 15fps on low settings.

    First what I currently have:

    CPU=http://cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=...+X4+640&id=171
    GPU=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150609
    Mobo=http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...=en&lc=en#N125
    10gb RAM
    Micro ATX case

    Now for the catch, I currently only have $200 max to spend on either a CPU to fit my existing mobo, or to buy a new mobo and CPU. After doing some digging, I have found the best cpu for my existing mobo socket(AM3, not AM3+) is the Phenom II X6 1100T.

    Now if I were to upgrade, I am leaning towards the GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 and FX-6300 mobo/cpu combo.

    This is nowhere near set in stone, but they seem to work for around what I have to work with budget wise. Any and all help is mucho appreciated.

    Pretty good choice in this price, just make sure Your current memory chips are on supported list http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList...-78lmt-s2p.pdf for that motherboard. (To find out what RAM You have use CPUID, free and easy to find).

    If you are looking for bang for buck under 200 bucks, go get an intel core i3 - should be around 100 bucks and a decent 70 dollar (open box if you wanna chance it). The benefits to this is that the dual core will keep up with the AMD 8 Core and you can have more capacity for future upgrades.

    In general, it's a better idea to choose an improved CPU unless you want extensive graphics processing. As you'll see in a moment, GPUs often cost more and have a shorter lifespan. Your system's speed will be increased without incurring too much expense if you go with the less complicated option of replacing the CPU.
