Cpu or mobo dead? (or both)

So. I have a p5k motherboard with a Q6600 installed. I kept the cpu overclocked at around 3GHz daily, when at one point i was simply browsing and the computer died. Tried to boot it up again, it spins the fans for like a second before dying out...

So today i got my hands on a E8500 which should work without problems on the mobo, but with it plugged in the comp spins fans up, after a few seconds it reboots, then it gets stuck on spinning the fans and my monitor gets no signal...

If i boot without a cpu it ofc gets stuck on spinning the fans.

So any idea whats wrong?

As i told you before, just reset your BIOS at first.

Yeah i took the bios battery off for a minute, booted up, shut down, put the battery back in and it's the same

Try unplugging the RAM and plugging it back in.

Yup i took all of them off, tried them on one by one... Nothing worked

Don't remove the bios battery. You can kill the board if you do, just reset CMOS (Look at youtube if you don't know how, some ways I've seen here are not correct). Have you done the same with the video card? Unplugged and plugged it back.

i moved the bottom jumper one pin to the right for a minute then back. Also tried graphics card... Not working

I know it says solved Wetop But next time you think ur mobo might be dead Pull all the Ram sticks out and turn it on. it Should beep 2-3 times. if it does its not ur mobo (most of the time.)
