    [Computer Problem] Help!

Ok so I've been having this problem for the last month, it only happens when I play a game thats graphically demanding, like WoW in some parts, and CoD4 etc...
The problem is that every few minutes my screen will lock up and under CPU% on my G15 it will say 100% for around 5 seconds, I checked in the CPU logging and It was right, spikes to 100% for 5 seconds and it doesn't show what process is causing it.
I've tried virus scanning, updating drivers, under clocking my video card, increasing fan speed, registry cleans.

I'll list my computers specs just in case anyone wants them to try and help:

    AM2-940 x2 Dual Core 6000+
    ASUS (AM2-940) M2N-X
    ECS PCI-E 320MB 8800GTS
    2x 1GB DDR2 800
    IDE Maxtor 250GB HDD
    SHAW Tornade-550 Black Tower Case
Chimei CMV 221D 22" WS Monitor
    Vista 32bit

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

many times, this "lockup" is due to small "hang ups" in the coding of the game and the way that your hardware "reads" this data.

for example, some websites work great of Firefox, how ever, others don't due to the coding of the site.

there really isn't much of a fix for this problem.. sorry bro..

It happens on basically any game, happens on Solitaire sometimes, I don't think Its a coding issue...
I'm trying to investigate to see If Its a motherboard issue, sigh Ive had to many problems with my computer and only got it 3 months ago.

If you PM me I could point you to some tools that might help you poke around on the hard ware side of things to is if any thing is wrong at that level. Other then that what video drivers are you using? You might want to try cleaning them out and trying other ones "www.guru3d.com is a great place to get new a modified drivers"

As Antihero suggested it could be your gfxdrivers, try omegadrivers: OmegaDrivers.net - Home of the Omega Drivers for ATI & NVIDIA desktop/laptop cards. By: Omegadrive

You could also try to increase your pagefile. Would give you a guide, but im kinda drunk so it would just get messy. Google it :P
