You would think that there has to be someone that does IP Camera's in here, hell even Smitten works for a Game Development Publishing company, so here goes.
I have a customer that has an Ubiquity 3-pack of UVC cameras Seen here
Now I am there to get his website straightened out, but he asked me if I could figure out the camera's a little more since the person doesn't work there anymore who originally set it up.
So I gave it a whirl and read some of the documentation that came with them.
Apparently the camera is simply PoE direct into the D-Link 24 port switch, and does not go into any kind of box that has "NVR" software on it, that I can tell.
However, you can log into the camera with a direct IP, and get one page, and it has a "Connected to NVR" and it has a 192.168.1.2 address like there's another router somewhere that he has no idea where it is.
Do these camera's have a built in server system? Or could he actually have a box somewhere that not even the owner knows about the location. From what I can tell, this switch/router is almost full, so it looks like the main switch/router for the entire site. There doesn't appear to be any server rooms (or closets) anywhere.
They do have some NVR software but the owner has never seen it on any of his computers. So either this NVR is a sub-system on the camera, or it's a service on his machine that is hidden unless you are managing it with this NVR software. I have never used these cameras before, but I personally would like to access the RTSP directly. The web-based image times out if you do not refresh the page, and accessing it directly is not a set it and forget it (Sorry Ron Popeil) method of accessing the image.
Anyone have any experience with these devices?
