completely factor 5x^2 = -500
Not sure if this is what you are looking for... but I would start off by simplifying it by moving the -500 to the other side.. (or adding 500 on each side like in the code code box)
5x^2 + 500
and then finding greatest common factor which in this case is 5
that gives us
5(x^2 + 100)
Code:5x^2 = -500 5x^2 + 500 = - 500 + 500 <- that gives us 5x^2 + 500 = 0 and therefore leaves us with: 5x^2 + 500 which you can easily factor
