    Internet help

Ok im sure someone will call me noob for this. But we have this internet problem at home, our "internet setup" Or whatever looks like this

Every connection is through cables, no wireless stuff.

It looks like a normal setup. but at our home we have this problem, only 2 people can use the internet at the same time.

Its really annoying because i want to be online on my playstation AND my computer without having some annoying mom (or sister) complaining about me using all the internet.

When my computer, and my sisters/moms are online at the same time and i go to the Networkprobertiers on my ps3 (or whatever its called) and presses Internetconnection test it gives me a time out on retrieving the IP address.

What should we do to fix this problem?

    Any help is appreciated (:

Are there restrictions on your router? This may be the case.

How to tell if there are restrictions:

    Go to - 192.168.1.1
Default login and password is - admin:admin
Look through your configuration and check and see if there are any access restrictions.

If this doesn't solve your problem, call the manufacturer of your router and you should be good

I think its a bandwith problem.

Which can only be solved by limiting downloading speeds.

    1. make sure your router is broadcasting different IP's on each computer, if its not then thats your reason right there. normally your ISP wont let you have more than 1 of the same IP connecting to the internet at once, unless you pay for additional IP's.

    2. make sure your router is capable of handling more than 2 connections at once.

    3. smash your mom or sisters computer so they wont be able to use your precious internet.

    4. connect to your router and pretend like your looking for somthing to fix this,

    howto:

    start>run>cmd>ipconfig

look for "default gateway" which is your routers LAN IP. example, mine is 192.168.2.1, yours could be anything.

Tbh you should not post your entire IP adress.
Many information can be retreived just through this number.
