wow thats awsome...
That sent a slight chill up my spine .Just because Gliese 581c is habitable does not mean that it is inhabited, but we do know its sun is an ancient star - in fact, it is one of the oldest stars in the galaxy, and extremely stable. If there is life, it has had many billions of years to evolve.
QTF! I wonder what kind of advanced tech they might have.Originally Posted by Flying Piggy

it has to have life, otherwise they wouldent call it "the new planet earth" , from micro-organism's to our size... bacteria is life, who knows maybe they figured out a way to fold the universe and travel extremely fast...

well since its 50% larger than us there is going to be more gravity so expect there to be gnomes
Also it doesnt apear to have a moon so it would be pitch black at night with only stars, cool eh?

(as of WoW)
WOTH TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING! THEY ARE GUNNA BE LIKE WTF PWN EARTH!
New plantet earth > US
advanced weaponry ftl..... i say nuke em.
They say the gravity is 2x that of earths there. That means anything that lives there is going to 2x as strong as anything that lives on earth. That in and of itself is going to make a huge change in ecosystems. Its year is only 13 of our days, which means in the morning you'll be shoveling snow, and driving through thunderstorms on your way to work, wish you had air conditioners while there working, and enjoying Indian summers sitting on your front porch eating your dinner.
I guarantee there isnt 1 single thing on that planet anything like anything on ours.
Totally reminds me of a random book i read. Was from the 50's and was about "advanced technology." What happened was that soem scientist created a anti-gravity element, and made a ship. They went to the moon and found out there is life there. In tunnels burrowed into the m oon surface, barbarian murloc thigns lived there. The ppl were trying to escape them and found out that they could crush the murloc-moonbeings head with a flick of a finger....Originally Posted by Majere

Science has not yet taught us if madness is or is not the sublimity of the intelligence.
I so want to comment on this...
I so want to call the people who think we're the only ones, and that's the only way it can be narrow minded and simple.
I so want to remind everyone that at one point, almost every scientist on the planet thought the world was flat, and that you would sail off the end to your death if you went to far..
But.. nah.. i'll just keep my mouth shut.. and grin silently at this. =)
