    [Broadcast] Windows Media Encoder

    Hey,

Well i got a new TUT out and it about how to broadcast using Windows Media Encoder

    Step 1

Well you cant broadcast with out the software so download the encoder at

Download details: Windows Media Encoder 9 Series
after you installed the program you may have to move all your songs in itunes and move them in to windows media player.

    Step 2
K this is the other complicated part so read carefully.... First open up windows encoder, then click on New Session then click on Custom Session
Then Session Properties should come up. Somewhere on your page Un-Click Video ( Only if you dont have a webcam or you dont want to broadcast your webcam ) Next click the drop down button for AUDIO
and select your sound mixer drive (My one is Realtek AC97 Audio) After you have done that. You can skip to Step 3.a or Step 3.b Must choose one.

    Step 3.a ( Microphone )
K Next click the add button at the bottom of the page. Click on Source 2 and de-select video and go to the drop down menu....If you have a driver for your microphone if you don't, just select (default audio device). Continue to Step 4

    Step 3.b ( No Mic )
    k skip to step 4 .

    Step 4
Now click on the tab called OUTPUT and only tick the boxes that say PULL FROM ENCODER and in the port find a free port that is not in use. Now leave the other tabs alone. Now click apply...

    Step 5
Start to open up windows media player and get ready for streaming. Now go to VIEW at the top and select sources if you went to Step 4.a , now click Start Broadcasting. Play the song and off you go. Also if you want to yuse your mic you have to switch sources.

    Step 6
While your broadcaster is broadcasting you have to find a way to get in. Well i did it for you....first find your computer name ( e.g. johnkitchen ) now go to your internet browser and type in mms://COMPUTERNAME:PORT

    Step 7
Give out the address and you will be able to contain around 10 listeners depends on your bandwidth. Also you need to port forward.

If you need help just give me a PM and ill try to answer your question
