Tired of losing unsaved pics? Wanna make it easier to do text effects in 1 click? Have a border you make often and want to put it on a sig/avatar in 1 click? Its really quite easy, its like making a Photoshop macro. They are called "actions". Well lets start. I'll show you how to make a very basic action.
Programs: Photoshop (CS2 in my case) and Imageready(optional).
Lets start. Step 1. First open PS and don't create a new document we have to use that in our action. Go to Window>Actions.
Step 2. Now with that open we can start. Click the button that says "Create new action". Now we have a new action just give it your own settings and click "record". Don't worry record just records what you do like "fill" or "Select layer 1". It basically creates the action based on what you do.
Step 3. With that ready lets make a action that fills up the image with white and makes a red circle in the middle then add a chrome effect. Start by making a new document that is 320x320 and is transparent.
Step 4. Make sure it is recording or else you will do this all for nothing. Now select the Paint Bucket tool and fill the layer with white. It records this so its saved.
Step 5. Now select the Ellipse tool and make a red circle in the middle. It records everything you do just to be safe. So if you make any mistakes i'll show you how to get the image back in 1 click at the end of this guide.
Step 6. Now all we need is chrome. Go up to Filter>Sketch>Chrome. Now use your own settings for the chrome. Now it should have some sort of chrome effect.
Step 7. Now in the actions window click the little square button to stop recording the action. Your done! Its your first action. To use it just select the action you created and press the arrow button in the actions window. It should have a name depending on the settings you gave it when you created the action. You can use this to save the steps of a text effect or record you progress of a image and you accidentally don't save it and all you have to do is click a button and get it back. You can use it to save a border so you can apply it to a image instantly.
Hope this helps alot of you.![]()
