There are recipes with profit in weaponsmith and explosives from alchemy too. Dunno about other proffesions.

Seriously, this is working from the first day on WoW and works on any MMO when people are dumb enough to sell things less than the price they really are worth. Just common sens.

Patched as of today. They've reduced the vendor price of many of the items Architects can craft. Thanks for the tip a week ago though OP, made a over 10 platinum doing this with a mouse recorder and apparently people with higher level crafting claiming to have made over 100 platinum. This was definitely an exploit and if you profited from it then lucky you!

You can Salvage some Pieces (material cost on my server 50 Silver) and salvage to cloth and all 3-5 times there comes a grey item for vendoring 10 g
