    Lightweight 32/64-bit Client Forcer

    Greetings.

I understand that future bot and hack developers will require you to run the 32-bit game client to be able to use their product. As the WildStar launcher does not have an option to choose the platform, the only way to select the correct platform is to patch the launcher or manually obtain the game client from the patch server. Neither of these are viable options for the average player.

This is a very lightweight program (8 KB) which will silently start the launcher, patch the process to use files for the correct platform, and exit.

    Warning:

Supposedly, this program is causing bans (totally unwarranted in my opinion). As always, be careful.
    http://www.reddit.com/r/WildStar/com...32bit_forcers/

    Download:

    Installation:

    1. Download WildstarPlatformSelector.exe and place it in WildStar's main directory:

    2. Right click WildstarPlatformSelector.exe -> Create shortcut:

    3. Right click the new shortcut -> Properties. Add /x86 (for 32-bit) or /x64 (for 64-bit) to the end of the "Target" box. Additionally, you can use -dx9 or -dx11 to specify which DirectX version to use:

    4. Click OK. You may rename the shortcut and change it's icon to look more suitable for WildStar:

    5. Move the shortcut to your desktop, your quicklaunch bar, or any place where you would normally start WildStar from.
Opening WildStar by using this shortcut will now download and run the correct game files.

Congrats! You now have the ability to choose which platform you will run WildStar under!

@Jadd : Are you spoofing values returned from GetNativeSystemInfo ? I was thinking about patching GetNativeSystemInfo when Carbine fixed the WildStar launcher but I succeed to get my custom launcher working then i didn't get more deeper into pathing the "legit" launcher.

    Edit : gj btw !

I'm not patching GetNativeSystemInfo but instead the function which uses it (it's only used one time.) Patching a few bytes is easier than detouring a whole function so I went with that. It's using a pattern to find the patch so it should last a while.

Fixed some overlooked bugs that *could* have occurred with the previous version. Everyone should redownload the new one. You obviously don't need to do the shortcut stuff again, just download the new executable and replace the old one.

    nice addition,

unfortunetly it didnt work for me.
Like you I have a 64bit OS. I followed all your directions adding the /x86 to the target and creating a shortcut.
    Placing it on the desktop.

I started it and it fired up wildstar but still the 64bit one. The files in the directory stay 64bit too.

It worked very recently, guess a patch killed it.

Nice programm. Sadly I got the same problem as solidriver.

Is it confirmed not working anymore or just a bug that might happen for some?

Updated, it now uses a more consistent pattern so there shouldn't be any problems for a while. I'll switch to a GetNativeSystemInfo hook when I can be bothered, at the moment I'm too busy playing the game .

Once again, simply replace the old executable with the new one.
