    Memory speedhack

Speedhacking is way to easy in this game ... i used it in stealth on my Scoundrel to farm on ilum

    Using CE:
    1. Autorun in a corner, search for float 0.6
    2. Stop running
    3. search for 0.0
    4. Repeat first 3 steps
    5. optional use the runspeed buff and search for 0.81, or when you have stealth search for 0.51 (while running)

It should leave ya with 2 addresses, pick the topmost.

Now, you can change and freeze this address and it will work ... but clumsy and it stutters because SWTOR tries to overwrite.
If you search for "what writes to this address", you should find only one line. Dissassemble it and NOP it ( make it do nothing).

There ya go, have fun, use it smartly.

Finding memory addresses are typically not hard. You should try and trace back the pointer.

I'm guessing this would be safer than using CE's speedhack, but how much safer would it be barring being reported?

If you don't want to find a good pointer or search every time you log in, make the following changes:

    Code:
    swtor.exe+320D69 - C7 81 DC000000 2A5C4F3F - mov [ecx+000000DC],3F4F5C2A
    swtor.exe+320D73 - 5D - pop ebp
    swtor.exe+320D74 - C2 0400 - ret 0004
That'll give you a speed value of 0.81 (+25%), change 3F4F5C2A to adjust your speed.

That's why i use it to move in stealth.
Or, you can use it to negate stuns.
Or make your mount slightly faster, nobody notices.

So, make sure you are not seen

I think he was talking about SWTOR's anticheat detection. If you are afraid of getting your account banned, do NOT bot or hack. I would just wait until there is more public information on the game from what a friend told me.

    Hey,

Obviously if I NOP the line of code which adjusts my characters speed I am just gonna be moving even when I want to stop. I am pretty new but I'd like to learn how I can get round this sort of thing. Also can anyone elaborate on any other methods of speedhacking (other than GetTickCount or whatever)?

    Thanks, Martin.

The memory edits posted above seem like they would work, although its probably not the most effective way of doing it. I'm sure you can find a static pointer to the address so that no memory editing (other than your speed) needs to be done.

That's not how it works. You start and stop like normal. The animation gets a little iffy and you might appear jumpy on other people's screens, but what you're describing doesn't happen.

No, it works flawless. That is because the value is probably not speed, but a speed multiplier.
I also have no animation problems (except for on slopes) .... that is If you keep the speed reasonable. I usually bumped it to 4 (5 times normal).

As Sychotix mentioned, pointers are cleaner, but harder to find for people that never used CE.

Be carefull with using this ....

I'm having a bit of trouble in searching for "what writes to this address?" When I select this, it will pop up a blank window with no addresses. What could I be doing wrong?

Once you do that you need to do something in game to make it write to the address you're watching. In this case do something to change your speed...turn on sprint, run/walk, whatever...

I have, and rode a taxi... Nothing. When I move, I get bursts of faster speed, but it may last a second before being cancelled for a second, so I know I have the right address.

Is there a certain setting that I need to use, and am I supposed to leave it frozen?
