I would not attempt anything related to the minimap with opencv, it is quite difficult to make anything useful from it, and it will take an extremely long time to process. Compared to memory reading you are wasting your time.

So, what's your question? "How do I use opencv"?

To get the image into opencv you'll want to blt the game window and iirc you want to use cv2::imdecode, but it's been a little bit.

After that, what do you plan to do with opencv? It's not a bot framework. It's for computer vision. You'll need to do a lot of different operations to make a bot with it. It is entirely doable but extremely resource heavy, even gpu accelerated you're asking for a lot.

Your position on the minimap is static, you can use edge detection to try to find the map bounds on the minimap. Figuring out which direction to go will be tricky. I guess the tried and true roll right could work for most maps that don't have isles (like laboratory).

Filtering noise will be almost impossible. Just a warning.
