How do I improve performance of this game?

I am getting 100% GPU usage in this league, it’s literally unplayable for me.
I looked around for tools and found PoESmoother is now paid
I was thinking about getting it but then I saw this comment by one of its contributer getting his account banned:

So, I am scared now. Is there a safe and preferably free way to make the game performance bearable?
What do you guys personally use?

I have invested a lot in MTX so I don’t want to lose my account.

He got his account banned not because of poesmoother but because he posted on POE forum a modified dll(a fix) for directx9, and GGG banned his account.
PoeSmoother users haven't got any ban since 3 years by now.

Maybe, maybe not,..but i recommend to run it. It takes 30 sec / 1 min to apply all options.

Check out Poe NullEffects too. It did wonders for me when playing volatile dead last season.
