How to bot on a different pc the safest way

So I'm a complete noob regarding botting in PoE, but I've read quite a lot already and I am thinking about trying out Exilebuddy for a month.
But before I do, I'd like to make sure I minimize the chance of my main account getting banned.

I plan to bot on a different computer than my main but in the same network.
I've read about possible MAC bans (which would not be a problem for me due to doing it on a different pc) and IP bans.
Now IP bans kind of frighten me because I could imagine my main account getting banned aswell.

So how do people solve this problem? Do they use VPN-services? If yes, are there any free ones doing the job well enough? Are there any guides for PoE especially how to properly set it up?

Basically, I'd like to know every possible security measure to not get my main account banned.

Are there any guides for PoE especially how to properly set it up? Not really. There are a few that run fine on their own, but you just have to test them out and see what ones work best for you.

If you're not willing to pay like $5 a month for a VPN, don't bother with botting. Unless you don't have a main account you care about.
