Disclaimer: This is not a full "flash hacking arsenal" but a list of every tool used to be able to follow the tutorials in this section. The toolbox will be updated every time a tutorial in this section requires a new tool.

Tools

Mozilla Firefox

• Download page: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
• Description: A web browser.
• What it will be used for: Browsing to the flash game. We are using Firefox as it loads everything nicely in a different process called "plugin-container.exe" and makes it simple to scan the memory with Cheat Engine as very few other things are loaded in this container apart from our game. Keep it to 1 tab and no firefox addons when following tutorials.

Google Chrome (An alternative to Mozilla Firefox)

Description: A web browser
What it will be used for: Browsing to the flash game. Not as easy as Firefox for example. How to find the right process, open "chrome://memory" look for Pepper Plugin Shockwave Flash, take the PID and convert it into hex (Do it with Calculator in windows by choosing Programmer (ALT + 3) type the number and click Hex). Now look for the Chrome process that ends in the hex you just obtained.

CHROME SPEED HACK FIX:
Make a shortcut for Google Chome, click on properties and add "-no-sandbox" to goal.
This will make Chrome slower but you can inject speedhack for example.

Sothink SWF Decompiler

• Download page: Sothink SWF Decompiler
• Description: Flash SWF Decompiler - Supports Flash CS3/4/5/6 and ActionScript 2.0/3.0.
• What it will be used for: Reversing/Reverse Engineering SWF files into AS2 or AS3 depending on what they've been coded in. You can also pull sprites/images/animations from it, but in this section, 99% of the time we'll be in the "Action" folders. It can also display the files inside in Raw Data: (AMV2 instructions for AS3/ AMV1 instructions for AS2) which includes what happens at the assembly level (Registers, Jumps, etc).

Cheat Engine

• Download page: Cheat Engine
• Description: An all in one tool used to hack various games. Not limited to Flash.
• What it will be used for: Scanning and editing memory. Modifying the content of certain things stored in the memory of your computer by the game. (It has to put it somewhere!)

• Prerequisites: http://get.adobe.com/air/
• Description: An Adobe AIR based shared object editor (.SOL files)
• What it will be used for: Opening and editing files saved on your computer by the game.
