Looks like Funcom is having a Beta weekend for The Secret World.

Sadly this beta weekend is not an open public thing.
You need a key or an invitation to participate. Granted there are a lot of ways to obtain these (and a lot of people already have), but its still not 100% publicly open.

There is no NDA on it though.

Thanks a lot for posting this. I really didn't want to shell out $50 for the game just to get beta access and not know if I liked it or not to actually play it in the long term.

The Gamespot registration worked perfectly and I got a key.

If anyone was wondering download size, 11.4GB total through their downloader. It starts 8 hours from now, so I think I should make it in time.

There was a NDA I had to agree to on my account, but by reading this forum post, it seems once the Open Beta weekend starts, it's off.

I've been playing this for only an hour and I have to say I'm really impressed so far. Very nice graphics and world. I don't know how well it runs on an average machine, but on my super rig its smooth and grogeous.

The world seems interest cross between present + magic/monsters. Don't know much more than that about it really. I would definitely give it a shot if you can.







I'll get some more now that I figured out that F11 is the screenshot key and there is a built in movie recorder. Definitely feels very polished.
