    addresses

    Hello guys,

I'm new to this forum, I'd like to ask if someone could give me data (addresses / offsets a.s.o) of a monster in target.

I already got the players ptr and the ptr of a monster, which dropped something, but I don't really know how to get e.g. the hp / position of the monster, which I have in target. I also got the ptr which tells me if I have a monster in target.

I'd appreciate some help, if you're interested in those addresses which I have, let me know that.

    regards

    Hey Syron,
OI also plan to find memorty locations for WAR but unfortonately so far I don't have too much experience with it. So maybe you could be so kind help me to start.

Do first, what kind of tool do you use to find the addresses? Cheatengine? That's the only one I know. Nex questions is, what kind of addresses you're looking for? 4KB, 2KB or maybe Floaters? It would be very nice if you could give me a short overview how I should proceed.

If I find anything I will send it to you...

    Thx in advance
    Gordon

I use cheatengine, as far as I know, many people use t-search or artmoney, but I love cheatengine so

It depends what you search, if you search coordinates, then you have to search for float's. If you want to search for e.g. hp or ap, then use 4bytes.
But you have to understand, especially for mmorpg's, what pointers are, which will be one of the most important thing in mmorpg's memory reading.

First of all, I recommend the cheatengine tutorial, which will tell you the basics, about that program.

HEy Syron, thx for your help. Well I also worked with Cheatengine a couple of times but so far not with an MMORPG. So you suggenstions help me a alot. Thx for that. In my first approch I will try to find whether an Aura is running or not (I play a Chosen). My sencond target is to find out, whether an ability is on cooldown or not. If you have any other advice just let me know...

    Thx
    Gordon

just as I know (I'm not that pro), you have to search for 2 numbers, if your aura is off, search 0, if it is on, search 1.

Im not sure about that thingy with the cooldown, gotta think about that....

But you're sure that aure_off = 0 and aura_on = 1? And I should search for a 4byte address? Do you think I need for this also the pointers?

    Cheers

well... as I just see, all mmorpg's I was working with, they used pointers for attacks, otherwise they'd have like 10 million base addresses. I think they're using pointers, yes. And Im pretty sure about that aura off and on thingy

Well, so far wasn't lucky to find any adress for the auras In addition cheatengine is crashing from time to time when I run a scan. Do you experience the same thing from time to time?

    Cheers

when does it crash? While scanning for 0 and 1? If yes, it doesn't crash, just be patient, it will continue... 0 & 1 will be very often found in memory

Well I found the general memory address which turns to 1 if any aura is running and goes to 0 if none is running. The question now is how to figure out where it stors which aura is running. There should be an address for each aura I guess. Does this have anything to do with the pointers?

    Cheers
    gordon

PS: I will let you know if it crashes again...

just as I know, which aura is turned on is usually send by packets... (I'm maybe wrong).

But start one aura, search with CE
Stop the aura, search with CE again

Loop that until you get the adress and then do the same with the other aura, maybe you're lucky.

Well it seems that I found the following so far:

    1.) Aura running yes/no
2.) How many auras currently running

Both addresses are "green" addresses. As far as I know that's good

In addition I found two memory addresses which changes 0/1 for a specific aura. However those are black addresses.

@ syron: how have you been able to find the right pointers for those adresses. i mean i know how to find pointers but unfortunately i didn't get any resuts if I search for the pointer in HEX format. so what's your approach?

    Cheers
    Gordon
