I was thinking all accounts were required to be on battle.net now...but maybe I'm wrong.

If the account belongs to someone that hasnt played for ages (before the force to bnet) then the account wont be attached to a battle net yet and he can attach it to his, and change the name of the owner on the account at the same time.

Its the only way to get an account that isnt yours, into your name.
