SQL "Read" vs "Write" menu

    SQL "Read" vs "Write"

    I need to understand what the very terms "Read" and "State" activities mean in SQL.

    In my understanding -

    "Read" means SELECT.

    "Write" means INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE.

    Is my understanding of the terms correct?
