Referring to the government's various steps in the development of information and communication technologies, State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palk said, "In order to build digital Bangladesh, young programmers need to give importance to programming and problem solving." The Prime Minister made these remarks while addressing the awards ceremony of the National Collegiate Programming Competition (NCPC) at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) on Saturday (February 22) at Mirpur Cantonment.
The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) said, at the award ceremony of the NCPC, Commandant of the MIST Major General Md. Wahid-uz-Zaman said that MIST will play its role in developing information technology in Bangladesh through education and research. The International Collegiate Programming Competition (ICPC) will be held in Bangladesh in 2021. NCPC was held this year at the national level in front of that competition. Initially, 12 teams from different universities registered for this competition. Subsequently, 6 teams were selected to participate in the final competition through verification.

The ISPR also says that digital programming is a key controller in building digital Bangladesh. Programming competitions are being organized in Bangladesh at various levels to create skills and interest in programming among the students who are studying in the university. The competition is being held every year starting from the 5th. Under the ICT Division, Bangladesh Computer Council sponsors the competition.
Brigadier General Mohammad Sajjad Hossain, Chairman of the organizing committee of the event and Divisional Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department presented the commencement speech at the awards ceremony. Also present were the deans, department heads, wing chiefs, senior military and civilian officials, students, teachers and other invited guests.
