Need help with a EXE

Hey, on my University my new teacher created a new program it's like a browser .
And he says (I'm thinking that is fake) that this browser monitors our processes from our computer. What makes impossible to cheat ^^. I would apreciate if someone (if its possible) can tell me what exactly it does. but i'm just want to know if it monitors our computers process. I think this just dont let us go to our Desktop.

It calls some functions in user32.dll, which is the dll used for reading/writing memory. It calls the NotifyWinEvent function. Im not sure if it monitors processes in any other way than that.

get vmware
get wireshark

start the program in your vmware

wireshark will exactly tell you what the program is doing

this program just connects to an http server i guess to your university server

Wrong about user32.dll
Read/Write ProcessMemory/OpenProcess/CreateRemoteThread/VirtualAllocEx/LoadLibray -> kernel32
