What do I need to know to create a form to database?

Before you read this, understand that I'm not asking anyone to build any of these things for me, only what I need to do to learn about how I can build these for myself.

I want to build an online form that carries the submission through to a viewable database which everyone has access to (or whomever I allow). I want to know how to add authorization requirements, password protect the results, and even require manual validation for submissions before it goes through to the results.

    So,
what do I need to study in order to completely work through this? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Confidence

I'd highly suggest using an object oriented language.

You'll need to learn, at minimum, PHP, HTML, and CSS.

Essentially, use HTML and CSS to design the website first.

Use PHP to actually generate the content on the pages.

You can design the whole thing yourself, or you can integrate it into an existing PHP system, such as phpBB. It's very convenient if you're working on a server or a guild website, because you probably want a forum anyway.

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.

Okay so I designed a website that will suffice for testing purposes. I can write in whatever I want to the center of the template so it looks pretty good for now. Thanks for your feedback, now I need to learn PHP to do this. How would I integrate a PHP Script into the page?

EDIT: Actually, I'll probably end up figuring this out while studying PHP & MySQL (goes hand in hand I figure for form entry). Thanks so much for your reply.

Change the file ending to .php and put your code within php tags (<?php code; ?>).
Don't forget the security -- you might get some major problem futher on otherwise ;].

Thank you very much! I'll definitely make sure I strive to make security a main factor as I proceed through PHP coding. +REP to both of you for responding and taking the time to help answer my questions.

As Eradicator said, fist learn HTML (design), then PHP and then MySQL (optional)

Also, be careful, add protection for XSS and SQL Injection.

    Check out W3Schools for tutorials.
