What would I need to learn for...?

I would like to know how to create online match forms. So when people pick things, they are assigned a % value to each item and are matched with something. Such as with eHarmony or AcneID, just maybe something I could use for a World of Warcraft guild network thing where the results would be guilds that best match what you want. What types of coding would be involved with that? Can anyone provide any tutorial links or anything that would work for that?

I would suggest PHP. There are other languages you can use, but the way I started learning PHP was taking free scripts that I've downloaded, look through them (seeing what it does) and then adding small modifications to it.

Been ~5 years since I learned PHP, I now know 10+ languages, and have a honors diploma in web development with very little effort :P

Go through this for the basics. I'd also keep Tizag bookmarked, it's extremely helpful.
