Is the database on your web hosting server or your development computer? I think the best way on your web host is to contact your hosting provider they can reset it without it affecting your database. You can also reset it yourself if you have shell access to your server (if you can use the command prompt) or if its on your development computer, but I think it's pretty complicated and it depends on the platform; I would just ask your host to do it.

Look at your dbconnection file if you have one?
If not, contact provider like previously stated.

Im using Vista and im running it from computer and i downloaded it from MySQL :: The world's most popular open source database and i got the 5.1 version and you dont register it with site or atleast i didnt so i cant ask them to reset the password. There are some manual ways you can do it but they seem really complicated lol and was hoping maybe someone could dumb it down for me lol
