I can't even extract the CASC files

- it looks like there are changes in the CASC files. I fixed them, but still not working (based on this: Fix . WoW-Tools/CASCExplorer@dfd54d0 . GitHub)

- also it looks like a bug (or maybe it is a change too?) caused my CASC reader to stop working. Previously re-downloading the data folder solved the issue, but it is not working now

note: my casc reader is based on Enigma's CASC reader which is no longer maintained (due to his absence), and I have hard time to update it without him...

Do you have the CascView for Windows file? It looks to be the latest version (WC3). Since Enigma can't (or won't) help, do you have the necessary files to fly solo? I can PM the site that has the file.

The trick would be to compare the two builds and find what's changed. Also, what KJ has now from Enigma may be different from the screenshot. Hence the question. The file/program would be a great alternative for the time being with Enigma MIA. KJ may have a preference in Enigma's reader, however, due to their work together to make this project what it is. It's also possible that KJ's understanding of the changes is an issue and that's where Enigma helps the most. Whatever the case, we should try to assist if KJ needs it.

Which version of CASC Explorer are you using that is working for PTR 2.6.4? And would you mind sharing?

I would assume the latest version, which has the WC3 Remastered PTR objects.

yes, CASC Explorer is working, but I have a whole toolchain to process the CASC files and it does not involve CASC Explorer. I have my own implemenation (derived from Enigma's work).
And I just realized they changed the CASC format, so I had to put lot of effort to fix my toolchain. But it is fine now.

The main problem is that without Enigma it is a complete nightmare to update HUD after patches. There are three possibilities:
- they change only offsets and structs - I can update easily
- they change crypto keys too - it is a complete nightmare for me, but hopefully achievable to update HUD
- they change the crypto algorithm(s) - I close this forum and say goodbye

I can not disclose. He became one of the biggest statues in the Hall of Diablo Scene. Period. Everything else does not count.

Its speculated, Enigma got hit with a cease and desist. As to why KJ hasn't been hit all I can guess is he's gone to further lengths to protect himself.
