It's highly possible players receive better loot within the first X number of kills, opens, or minutes of being in game. Maybe within the first created game after X time for that matter. For this reason I would like to propose that D3 now has or has had diminishing returns involving loot.
It makes the most sense for Blizzard to attack exploiters in this way. How else can they stop chest exploits without implementing diminishing returns?
If you are too interested you should try recording every time logged in, the amount of time in between logins, how long did X Quest for, and when received some of the better loots within those time frames. The RNG on the afflicts of items probably isn't effected so I am judging the quality of items based on Blue Rare and Legendary.EXAMPLE:
If anyone else would like to help me in determining a maximum amount of time to be logged out for in order to revive good loot when logging in again, I need more data to come up with something conclusive.
It would be pretty awesome to say, "Stay logged out for 2 hours, farm 5 Neph. buffs, open a chest, and you will revive a legendary".
POST AND HELP FIGURE OUT HOW TO RESET THE DIMINISHING RETURNS.
