Firebird Bug season 6 patch 2.4.1

Hello there,

It has come to my attention that there is a new, or well, not really new, firebird bug.

This has been exploited to achieve #2 on the european seasonal ledaerboard and #1 on the chinese one, i assume that it will completely screw up season 6 leaderboard, so might as well make it public.

Here is a youtube video explaining in detail how to use it.



Step to step guide :

1. Enter the grift and find a blue pack of mobs.
2. Ignite 1 of them only using disintegrate and run away from it, do not kill it.
3. upon finding a new elite, use fire blast ( default 1 in archon form ) once to get the dot on him, you will want to do this every 3-4 seconds,you will no longer be using disintegrate, if you do, you have to start from step 1 again.
4. This will cause the elite to procc the bug and your dot from 4p and 6p will be multiplied by about 50 x.
5. The elite should die in 2 ticks of fire blast.

How do i know if it's working ? you should have 50 stacks of firebird ( NOT ARCHON ) at all times, not lower, higher possibly, but not lower.

Notes : you want low sheet damage for this, therefore, skip any paragon into int, ChC, ChD and Area damage. Go for vitality instead, also.

You want as much cdr as you can, since the exploit itself will do the damage, you can literally roll cdr on everything to have as little downtime between archon as possible.

In additional, no int germs, use cdr or vit, same for weapon, you do not want ChD gem you want a elite % dmg one ( white )

Edit : My personal oppinion is, blizzard will not swing the banhammer at this, the wizard european leaderboard on heroic is FILLED with people using this, and now the non hc as well. Too many people to ban, but then again, this is an exploit and using it is on you, this is just my 2 cents.

Edit : apparently d3 planner wont let me remove points from ChC, ChD and area damage from the paragon points, remember, you want to skip the 3 above mentioned from your paragons.

I apologise for my mistake, i was not aware of it, been hunting contributor since i pretty much joined and i was hyped that i could get a few points towards it >_<

Why does this works with blue elites and not yellow? Also can you go in to more detail why you fire blast only every 3-4 seconds? I keep dropping my FB 50 stack. What exactly is Ignite caused from? Sorry for all the noob questions ;_;

Not sure about yellow / blue, but it is how it works. You blast only 3 seconds and not before because you would otherwise ignite them and remove the bug. If you keep dropping your FB stacks you must be using fire blast ( 1 in archon ) more often than every 3 seconds. Ignite is caused from either casting fire blast in succession or using disintegrate.

Off note, as i predicted, this bug will not be bannable, here is a blue post about it.

It’s the Fire set for Wizards and puts you in a place where you can burninate all the things. That’s awesome, we like that, and we want to preserve that feeling. On the other hand, we’re not happy with the bugs we’ve encountered and it’s become clear we need to take a new approach. We’re working on a fix that will be introduced in a future patch.

So, what does that mean for Season 6? There are a lot of players who have pushed hard and reached high ranks with these unintended bugs. However, we don’t want to punish players for working within the parameters given to them. To that end, the current functionality will remain intact for the duration of Season 6. Once these bugs have been resolved, you can expect that the power level of Firebird’s will be much more in line with other sets.

Got plenty of time left on the timer, but heck.. Cant seem to kill the boss fast enough xD
assumed the bug would still be there if you already got it bugged when boss spawns ?

You do the same thing you did to kill elites thru the entire rift, fire blast, run away wait 3 seconds, go back.

It should absolutely melt the boss.

Sadly, after multiple tries here, perfect game until spawn, then I get pooped on ;D Guess the game refuses me to use this ^^

10 times tryed and 1 times it worked..... if i finish the trash/elite im on buff....... Start the fight vs the rg same like before, hit with 1 and run but mostly he dont lose any hp but ive the 50 stack buff.............

Maybe thats the reason why no RG in your video?! :shh:

Does not matter since you will use vyr 2 piece meaning you get all of them.
