can someone confirm this still works?

I can't yet, but I wonder if this same trick works on any LEG Set that summons something such as the Asheara's Vestments Set. I know there are bugs for other similar things like getting a Zombie Dog for free. So I wonder if any of you guys tried this same method on other "summons" Sets...just a thought.

I tried this with Zunimassa's 4 piece (permanent fetishes) and that doesn't work. Call is a bit unique as it gives you a "buff" instead of just pets.

use warcry regen and they should never die on t1-t4.

also tasker/theo gloves give them/pets +50% attack speed.

anything else/gear you can think of to maximise this?

I had trouble getting the ancients to stay after switching out a piece. Here's what worked for me:
If you equip the 4 set, then get into combat and use CoTA, then you can swap out a piece and they will remain by your side even after you leave combat. The only issue is that the ancients will disappear if you switch skills.
Edit: this doesn't seem to work 100% of the time. Maybe the ancients need to be in a combat animation.

I also managed to get it to work outside of combat by adding additional input to delay client-to-server communication. I did this by starting with only 3-piece equipped. You quickly equip the 4th piece, use CoTA, and switch out an IK piece all at once. So, click item -> CoTA -> click item
