Possible Exploit

Found this on Blizzard D3 General forums:


"So, this has happened to me twice now. Basically, I was fighting some elites and my health dropped down to zero but I didnt die (my screen edges went red and everything). I was so convinced I was dead that I just kind of sat there waiting for the respawn button to come up.

Oddly enough it didn't yet mobs were still attacking me, so I tried to attack back and it worked. After killing the elites I decided to go and try and commit suicide elsewhere, sure enough my health would drop down to zero (and until I used a potion I couldn't move or attack) but I didn't die.

Obviously this made the rest of the farm rather amusing

None of my friends have experienced this but they were in a game with me when it happened, so they believe it happens after seeing it themselves.

Anyone else had this truly awesome bug? I'd love to know how to recreate it lol."

Could be a troll post but a few other users commented that they experienced the same recently.


Sorry if this is useless info... this is my first post. I only thought it was interesting because he said he was able to keep killing mobs, which sounds like he still has communication with the server.

It's not truly awesome.
It's merely a visual bug, showing you that you are dead, but frankly, you're at a normal level of HP.

It's just a visual and ****ing annoying bug. It happens all the time as DH when you cross some molten, desecration or any other AoE Effects on the ground that would kill you by the time you cross them with Smoke Screen.. the bug ends as soon as you take atleast 1 point dmg. You could fix it yourself by unequipping a gear part but it doesn't work now. Maybe just with items wheres vit on it, but before 1.0.3 it worked with every gear..

I've had it happen multiple times as a DH and it is a visual bug. However, even when I take damage / heal the effect doesn't go away. And currently the only way I've found is swapping vit gear. Not an exploit, just poor coding on Bliz's part

Dying works to get rid of it as well (though it's hardly viable).

Just a minor observation but the description he has made is not in keeping with the well known DH visual bug. He states that he was still getting hit and not dying, an unlikely occurence for anybody playing DH

He clearly says that he stays alive. I have seen this but on a barb. He stood in the middle of molten and 3 elites and never died but his bar showed no health. But then he was stuck in the same spot afterwards..

Same happened to me but I could not move or do any damage but I was at 0 health took no damage and my friend just killed everything while I stood there tanking.
