However my question is, if a player is not itemed enough to kill Hell Diablo, what does he expect to achieve in Inferno?

I have done diablo hell on hardcore aswell, he's just as weak there.
There is no way in hell that you can die on him at lvl 60 with some inferno gear.

Well my barb was too under geared to be useful in inferno as i had leveled him completely off of the act 3 meteor, yet i wanted for him to be level 60 and inferno ready, so that when i did farm gear on my demon hunter, i could just slap it straight on him and test him out against inferno level mobs, now i am clearing act 2 with him pretty easily as i have decent gear and it just saved me some effort i guess.

A friend and I were killing inferno diablo. Random dude joins in halfway through and wouldn't leave.

When diablo died, the random guy got the class achievement for killing inferno diablo, but not the general non-class-specific achievement for killing inferno diablo. He did not teleport to us at the end though.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Instead of randomly joining inferno Diablo games, I'm going to ask in general for an invite just before s/he/it dies.
Much more decent than joining a random game and making it harder for someone to succeed.
