Easy way to avoid damage as Demon Hunter

The ability Smokescreen can be used for more than what the tooltip suggests. When using it you can avoid taking damage by a spell that would otherwise damage (or kill) you. For example, you can avoid taking damage from the "frost bombs" that some enemies can use at harder difficulties, you can also avoid some boss spells and such. Since the tooltip doesn't say anything about avoiding/being immune to damage it could be seen as an exploit, neat trick nonetheless. I haven't tried it in all scenarios yet but I think I could break free of some CCs too.

How? Doesn't say in tooltips about breaking CC, and this isn't WoW.

Have to agree, the fact that the smoke screen: 1) Breaks CC and 2) makes you immune to ALL damage for its duration (tested by me in nightmare mode) makes it an EXTREMELY useful thing.
In fact, it is currently one of the most useful skills of DH for me.

+rep for you, i discarded that skill as useless at the early levels when i got it.

Another great one is elemental arrow + the fear rune for elite champion packs. I use this for Inferno combined with smokescreen and can solo most elite/champion packs with not much of a sweat. The only problem is if you're using a SLOW weapon. Using a fast one, like 1.6 attacks/second, is good. Also since its elemental arrow, it goes through the enemies, so in narrow pathways you can fear entire groups in bottlenecks. Its pretty beastly.
