    OwnedCore Updates

So if you didn't already know we released OwnedCore Merchandise on Teespring a little over a week ago. Mostly every shirt comes from a suggestion we got right here on OwnedCore but also our social medias. After we launched it we got some more feedback including the want for more color options and a panda shirt that uses the same panda as our MMOWNED logo from back in the day. We have added the maximum color options for each piece of clothing and also, thanks to Smitten, got the panda logo shirt out there asap. Hope you enjoy!

Loot Trading in Classic WoW update

I never thought we would see so many updates on Classic WoW before launch. It seems Blizzard's Classic WoW team is really working towards making Classic the best experience it can possibly be and it only gets me more hyped. Today another blue post came out on the topic of loot trading. Now if you don't remember what they said at Blizzcon about loot trading let me give you a quick run down.

They said loot trading (which wasn't a thing at all in Vanilla WoW) would be available in Classic WoW. The main reason brought up for this by Blizzard was that in Classic a lot of times people receive loot that could have been given to another person via master looting and a ticket is then made. Usually these tickets did result in a GM giving it to the person per request. Blizzard figured why not just skip the middle man, the GM, and just allow loot trading for a short period of time after something is looted like they added back in Wrath of the Lich King.

A lot of Classic WoW fans had major issues with this and it was more than just "that isn't the true Vanilla experience". Some issues brought up are people now rolling need on items they don't need in order to trade it to somebody that does need it in their group of friends. Now keep in mind this loot trading is only available to characters who are there for the kill that the loot dropped from so you cannot roll need on an item, win it, go to Ironforge, and trade it to your friend who wasn't even there. But even with this obvious restriction in place this could happen in dungeon groups where the tank is lets say friends with one of the DPS. A item drops that 2 of the 3 DPS need and instead of just those two rolling on it the tank is now also rolling on it to give his friend better odds since he can trade it to him if he wins. This had 0 restrictions either. In Vanilla you can roll on cloth as plate, mail as cloth, etc. This obviously would be a huge issue.

    Blizzard's fix to this problem

Loot trading's 2 hour window will only be available for soulbound gear that drops in raids. This means no dungeons can have the scenario I mentioned above. You can be in a Wailing Caverns with 4 people who are in a group together and feel safe that they won't be rolling on every piece of loot simply to trade to their friends. One issue.

    What about UBRS?

In a follow up post, after a lot of people on the /r/ClassicWoW reddit brought up that UBRS was technically a raid since it was 10 man, Kaivax stated that UBRS would be treated as a dungeon with loot trading. So even though you are technically in a raid group when you run UBRS it will not have loot trading available.

Essentially loot trading will now only be in raids because usually raids are groups of people that know each other already and most of the time has a Master Looter assigned anyway.

Alterac Valley in Classic confirmed for 1.12

Alterac Valley changed a lot throughout vanilla specifically the 1.12 vs 1.5. This means matches probably will not last for days like some of you remember. From 1.6 and on they did a ton of changes to AV. There is a reddit post by user Mumfo that breaks down each pass which was than summarize by user SoupaSoka.

    1.5

    -AV added to the game.

    1.6

-The respawn time for tower guards (assuming the tower has not been destroyed) has been greatly increased.

    1.8

-A great avalanche has closed off both the eastern and western segments of Alterac Valley. This has displaced the Syndicate Wildpaw Gnolls, and many of the Winterax Trolls.

-Due to the avalanche, Korrak the Bloodrager and a small band of surviving Trolls have made the Snowfall Graveyard their new home. Players will find that Snowfall is now under Korrak’s control and they must defeat Korrak and his Troll guards if they wish to take Snowfall.

-NPC difficulty has been scaled down. All NPCs have had their power reduced by 15-30%.

    1.10

-Korrak the Bloodrager and his band of trolls have packed up their bags and left Alterac Valley for greener pastures.

    1.11

-Most of the NPC guard units have been removed.

-Creatures that remain in Alterac Valley have had their hit points reduced.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And this leaves us with 1.12. Less NPCs, weaker NPCs, race specific loot when you loot the enemy faction corpse removed, etc.

The thing we have to remember here is Blizzard probably did this because not only did the map get buffs, nerfs, etc but it also changed. Graveyard positions, paths, and more all changed. So it wouldn't make much sense for Blizzard to pick the 1.5 version just to have to update it to what the result ended up being later on anyway. This also is good to keep in mind because apparently Blizzard couldn't recover the full data of Classic WoW so they are rebuilding a lot of this. So if you were looking forward to 6 hour minimum AV's then I am sorry to inform you that it definitely will not happen. RIP Korrak.

    Google Stadia

Last weekend Google announced their latest project Google Stadia which seems to be their way to get into the gaming space while also changing how we game. Stadia is a streaming service first and foremost and will be used for cloud gaming. On the Stadia platform you can play a game on the highest settings even if your PC can't handle it since it won't be your PC running it. They do this by streaming the game to you. But there is more to this besides running games you normally cannot. Stadia is its own platform per say where you can play games on one device and continue on another. As long as the device can run Youtube it can run Stadia according to Phil Harrison. Now this service obviously is not free but the price is not yet known but will most likely be a monthly subscription model similar to Netflix. Another thing they tackle is hacking and cheating. Since the games on Stadia are ran not by you but by Google there essentially is no way to cheat, at least that is what we are being told. "A hackerless gaming experience".

Another cool aspect with Stadia is that you can watch games on Youtube while playing the game all on the same platform. They gave an example with Tomb Raider and being stuck on a certain quest. Stadia can find a tutorial for you in that specific point of the game on how to advance. Stadia will have its own controller which is used via Chromecast and connects to the Stadia service over wifi. Like the XboX 360 controller better than any controller in existence? Turns out any controller with a USB will work.

So this could be the future of gaming if it works. Realistically I don't see competitive multiplayer games ever being done on this due to wanting the minimum input lag. But when it comes to single player games as long as you have good internet it seems like you won't necessarily need the best PC to play some of these new titles on ULTRA.
