    [Guide] Armor Swap Part 1

This guide is HUGE, 54 pictures, and this isnt the full guide. This is just the helm and the shoulder pads. The rest is in another part
    1. ONLY HELM AND SHOULDERPADS HAVE .M2 FILES. PLEASE PLEASE DONT BE ASKING WHERE THE ROBE .M2 FILES ARE. All robes, pants, gloves, bracers, boots, ect. have the SAME basic model, and you cant change that. Its kinda hard to understand but trust me.
    2. KNOW YOUR RACE/SEX this is KEY in a successful armor swap. Armor looks different on every race, and sex please make sure you know this.
In the wow files its race then sex. M is male F is female, here is the race breakdown:
    DW-Dwarf
    GN-Gnome
    HU-Human
    NI-Night Elf
    OR-Orc
    SC-Undead
    TA-Tauren
    TR-Troll
    3. Make sure you are fimiliar with your armor. It is important to locate in MWS where your armor is. For the most part they are not to hard to find, and try using this guide i made http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...dels-name.html
    4. PLEASE have some model changing experience before attempting this, this is long, hard and tedious. Try something else, might i suggest my other guides located here:
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...ount-swap.html
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...ound-swap.html

    Now for the guide

This guide is for going from a dreadmist helm and dreadmist shoulderpads to plaugeheart helm/pads

    1. First open MWS and then open patch.mpq:

    2. Patch.mpq looks like this:

    3. Now Click on ITEM then OBJECTCOMPONENTS. Objectcomponents have .m2 files were as Texturecomponents do not. Then click on Head:

    4. Then Find Helm_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01_ScM.m2 . This file is the dreadmist helm .m2 for a undead male:

    5. Now copy the tree path into a notepad doccument

    6. Now find Helm_Robe_RaidWarlock_C_01_ScM.m2 . This is the tier 3 helm for a undead male. Copy the tree path into a 2nd notepad document then extract the file:

    7. The file should look like this

    8. Now we are going to find the texture for the dreadmist helm. Go to Item then go to ObjectComponents, and then to Head:

    9. Now scroll down to find Helm_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01Purple2.blp

    10. Now copy the treepath

    11. Now paste it into the first notepad document

    12. Now we are going to find the texture for the plaugeheart helm. Click back on ITEM then OBJECTCOMPONENTS then Head

    13.Now find the file Helm_Robe_RaidWarlock_C_01.blp

    14. Right click on it and select copy tree path

    15. Paste this into the 2nd text doccument

    16. Now go back to MWS and extract the file

    17. Now save it like this

    18. Now we are going to do the shoulderpads. Go to Item then ObjectComponents then Shoulder.

    19. Now find LShoulder_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01.m2 . This file is the model for the Left shoulder. IDK why but there is different models for each pad, but it is

    20. Now copy the treepath

    21. Now paste it into the first notepad

    22. Now find RShoulder_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01.m2 , the right shoulder

    23. Now paste this into the first text document

    24. Now we must find the .BLP file. Both pads have the same .blp so dont worry. Its called Shoulder_Robe_Dungeon_Warlock_A_01Purple.blp

    25. Now select copy treepath

    26. Now copy this into the first text document

    27. Now we are going to find the plaugeheart shoulder pads. Go to ITEM then go to OBJECTCOMPONENTS then click on Shoulder

    28. Now find LShoulder_Robe_RaidWarlock_C_01

    29. Now click copy treepath

    30. Paste it into the 2nd text document

    31. Now extract the left pad

    32. Should look like this

    33. Now find RShoulder_Robe_RaidWarlock_C_01

    34. You know the drill, copy the treepath into the 2nd text document

    35. Extract the right pad also

    36. Now find the .blp, known as Shoulder_Robe_RaidWarlock_C_01.blp

    37. Once again, copy treepath into 2nd text document

    38. Extract the file once again. Congratulations, you now have all the files, time for the real modelchanging

    39. Open a window browser and get to where u extacted all the files

    Must continue in another post

    40. Now take the FIRST text document should look like this

    41. Now copy the Helm_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01_ScM.m2

    42. Now right click on Helm_Robe_RaidWarlock_C_01_ScM.m2, and select rename, and paste in Helm_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01_ScM.m2 to look like this

    43. Now do the same with all the files in this folder, making sure ur matching up .m2 with .m2 and .blp with .blp, right pads with right pads ect. so that u get this

    44. Now go back to MWS and select Create MPQ archive under Pack. NOTE if u already have a speech2.mpq and would like to keep it, make sure to select Edit

    45. Name created file speech2.mpq, or if ur editing, click speech2.mpq

    46. Now you should see something similar to this

    47. Now click on Pack and choose Add File to MPQ Archive

    48. Now you should see this, and click on the .....

    49. Now go to your folder where all the extracted files are. Select Helm_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01_ScM.m2 and press open, but then do NOT press ok

    50. Go back to your first text document and highlight the first portion of text before Helm_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01_ScM.m2, the part highlighted here, and copy it:

    51. Now paste it BEFORE the Helm_Robe_DungeonWarlock_A_01_ScM.m2 to see this

    52. If you expand the files it should look like this

    53. Now add all the other files the same way you did the last one, and if u expand it all, you should see this

    54. AND TAAAA DAAAA!!!! Click on the save button and CONGRATULATIONS!!! You now have armor swapped your helm and pads.

    +Rep

Nice guide. I've pretty much mastered the helmet and shoulders, though...

Dopefish seems to do the chest, legs, etc in his movie.

Re: GUIDE: Armor Swap Part 1

Very nice guide, it worked great. However, when I changed my current helm model to the Soulforge helm model it also changed the facial features of my character. Seeing as I'm a dwarf with a very nice and luxurious beard we can't have this! Any remedy for that? Or will I have to remain helmetless?

    Thanks!

Re: GUIDE: Armor Swap Part 1

soo i pretty much love you. and btw, before you guys go and show off your "new gear" to your friends on WoW, remember that only you can see it from your comp. it doesnt change the object to other players.. I found that out the hard way :'[ "hey troy, look at my new staff!" troy "..its a tiny stick" me, astonished "**** beans!" troy "douchebag"

    still its awesome

There are several ways, the shortest is download the link at the end of this post, and extract it into ur MWS. Itll replace some files in ur MWS folder. http://www.cnitblog.com/Files/linghu..._TestPatch.rar
    That should do it
