Where do I get a parsed root file?

One more thing I think I'll be needing. I'm working on adding custom recolors into the game, I assume I could do so by finding rarely used or spawned NPCs, extract their blp files, rename my current BLP files to that of the NPC's and place them into my wow folder under the creature directory with the same path they'd have if they were actually the NPC's original blps. My biggest roadblock is that I can't find any way to compare the NPC to its blp filenames, so I have no way to really do this without flipping through each and every blp in the game until I find the one that looks like the displayid I'm replacing.

There must be some better way to do this? How else can I get the blp IDs for creaturedisplayinfo.db2 and how do I find the NPC I plan to use through its displayid?

Biggest issue now is applying the m2 to the NPC I'm replacing.
