M2 v1 --> M2 v2 conversion?

After extensive Googling and alot of website digging I've basically lost hope in finding such programs publically available, but is it possible? Are there utilities of this nature? I was looking around thru the changes done to the format and it doesn't seem like alot was modified, just two additions to BoneDef/Geoset structs and rotation data packing. I do have several conversion utilities for the original M2 format but nothing capable of converting the old M2 to new M2. Mostly I wanted to fool around with reusing the old Ogre/Succubus models to skin and modify for amusement >.> Guess I could take up learning C++

some of the newer model viewers read both. and will convert to other formats. Wouldnt seem like such a stretch to use the source codes from that to make a converter. but then i really have no idea.

Possible yes. Was requested for cryect to code something to do it a while after the nogg break up but nothing was publically release that I know of.
