When does one NEED Model Edit Fix?

For me it seems hit or miss... some model edits need it, others don't.

For instance, Andridge's Druids of Azeroth model edits don't need it. Another one I downloaded also doesn't need it.

So when does one need it, and when does one KNOW he needs it? If it's required, does the game just crash if you don't use it?

Textures need no fix, models will. DBCs and ADTs do.

That's what I mean though... so say I need it for MODEL edits, but I've changed both my tauren druid cat form and tree of life form to worgen forms... and I'm not using the MEF and the game is working fine.

So... what's the use?

Not all models will, to be correctely. Character models will. Some others will too. Some models are 100% free of checks. Just try and error if you are unsure.
