    Model Editing in patch 2.0 (SS) by Zeryudo

    Hello,
    in this Turtorial i want to change undead Female to undead Male!
    (Sorry for the German names on the Screenshots :O )
    Lets start:

    1) Open MWS
    2) File->Open MPQ Archive->common.mpq (the common.mpq is in your WOWFOLDER/DATA )
    3) Check All file(*.*) is selected http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/391/1tg3.png
    4) Create a new folder, save it as CHARACTER (note caps). I created mine on my desktop. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/627/2lh3.png
    5) Look for the race you want to change in. Mine is SCOURGE/MALE. Extract the file (desktop prefered). http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/117/3uz7.png
    6) Ok, now rename the extracted m2 file in YOUR race. Mine is Scourge Female, so i rename the file to ScourgeFemale.m2
    7) Open your CHARACTER folder (that one on your Desktop). Create a subfolder of YOUR race. Insider that create
    a new folde of YOUR sex.Now drag the m2 file inside your Sex folder. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/4628/4za8.png
    8.) Goto MWS under Pack->Creat MPQ Archiv. Save it as patch-4.mpq on your desktop.
    9) Right click on the white, empty box ->IMPORT folder. Choose your CHARACTER folder, its saved on your Desktop. http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/5353/5iy2.png
    10) Goto-> Pack -> Save and close. Delete your CHARACTER folder that is on your desktop! Very importan!

    11)Create a new folder on your desktop, save it as Character (note no caps).
    12)Goto MWS. File->Open MPQ Archive->common.mpq (the common.mpq is in your WOWFOLDER/DATA )
    13) Check All file(*.*) is selected.
    14) Goto Character (note no caps) and extract the folder you want change in. Mine is SCOURGE.Save it on your desktop and
    save it as YOUR race. http://img450.imageshack.us/img450/8874/6xp8.png
    15) I want to change my Female undead to Male undead. So, I dont need the female folder. Delet it. And rename the MALE folder to Female. Drag the folder into Character. http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/3576/7ly8.png
    16) Now, we have to rename ScourgeMale. For this I use the programm XnView. http://perso.orange.fr/pierre.g/xnview/endownload.html . Install and start it. Do it like on the Screenie http://img328.imageshack.us/img328/715/10nn6.png -> http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/8311/8sz0.png
    17) Ok,Ok. Goto MWS under Pack->Creat MPQ Archiv. Save it as patch-5.mpq on your desktop.
    1 Right click on the white, empty box ->IMPORT folder. Choose your Character (note no caps) folder, its saved on your Desktop.
    19) Goto: Pack -> Save and close.
    20) Drag the two MPQ files in your WOWFOLDER/DATA . http://img313.imageshack.us/img313/8758/9wr9.png

    GZ, FINISHED!

    Nice guide but Im having a problem. Everytime I select a race that I want to be in step 5 and I click on the .m2, MWS crashes and says it has encountered a problem and needs to close (you know that damn thing that comes up all the time when things crash on XP) Anyone know how to fix this?

    Edit:: Nevermind I was using an old version as it turns out. So ignore this post please.

    hmm, im going to give this a go later. In theory, simply chaning LootFX.m2 would be done in the same manner...right?

    This is an awesome guide, thankyou for posting it(+rep). This is my first time model editing and wanted to change my Human into an Undead. It took me a while to figure a few things out though everything seems to work fine except the graphics of my characters head. It seems to have kept my Human head and hair with an Undead body...sort of.

    Obviously done something wrong...any help in fixing this would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

    I've been trying for hours and hours and still can't get this to work, since your example shows UD Female to UD Male, could you upload a file for that? It's exactly what I'm trying to change, UD Female to Male

    Once I click the CHARACTER/Scourge/Male file, my WarcraftStudio crashes and this happens every single time

    I'm also trying to do Undead Female -> Undead Male so could you do this for me and upload it? I have no idea why but it crashes every single time I try that step

    I am having trouble with step 16.. I download XN. My folder for scourgemale doesnt look like your in your screenshot. All it has in the folder is the m2 file, not all those" scourge male face pic, animations" etc. I hit"rename" and that program thing in your second screen doesn't open up. ANyone know why??
