[Race Swap] Tauren Female to NightElf Female (with Size Change Guide)

No eyeglow fix or helmfix since the hair was just showing up through them anyways and I don't know how to fix that yet. :[ They do however have clean skins for every model, including the special dk ones. This swap will make tauren male's have a green face because of the green colored NE hair textures. I'll see if I can fix but idk!

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE INTERESTED IN MANUALLY FIXING YOUR MODEL'S SIZE

These model swaps will change your tauren to a NE but it'll be about 20% larger than it should be. I tried including my own sizefix but it was making other people crash. This is a little guide for if you want to try it out yourself.

You'll need MyWarcraftStudio and DBC Editor.

1. Open MyWarcraftStudio, go into WorldofWarcraft\Data\enUS\patch-enUS.MPQ. If you're not from the US it will be named with your localization.
   
   
2. In patch-enUS.MPQ, you'll want to expand the DBFilesClient folder and search for CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc. Select this file, right click, and hit Extract to (somewhere you'll find it easily).
   
   
3. Open up DBC Editor now, click the open folder, and search for your extracted CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc. Open it. The tauren female ID is 60. Look over to the field4 column. These are the scales of the models. id 60 has a 1 in the field4 column (100%). Through trial and error I figured out that the model needs to be scaled down to .8 (80%) for the TaF->NiF model conversion to be the right size for an NE.
   
   
4. Click the 1 in id 60, field 4 column ONCE to change the number. Type .8 in its place, then press ENTER. The highlighted space will go down one of you did it correctly. Now, save it and close.
   
   
5. Open MyWarcraftStudio again. Go to Pack(P) -> Create MPQ archive. Name it patch-s or something. GO back to Pack(P) and click add file to archive. Select your edited CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc. In the "Input the pathname of file to be" window, rename it to DBFilesClient\CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc and press ok.
   
   
6. You've got your patch-s.mpq now. Move this to your data folder and make sure the .MPQ part is capitalized. Use it along with the TaF to NiF .mpq, and your size should be fixed.

I try to load it and my WoW just closes, moved the file out and it worked fine.

Did you extract it first? Are you using the latest wowme? Did you name it patch-8.MPQ or any 1 digit in the 8's place? It works perfectly for me.

Same exact thing happened to me. Extracted and renamed the file in the Data folder, ran the latest wowme, and wow just closes before the loading screen fully renders.

WoW now opens with the file without the sizefix, but crashes once you select female tauren. Also, it made my male tauren look weird.

Nevermind, updated WoWme, opens fine and loads the nelf female graphic correctly. Lemme see if I can get the first file workin'.

Alright, sizefix file allows WoW to open.. but the size isn't actually fixed. Huge nelf is still huge.

I guess it's something that has to be done manually. :[ I changed dl link, but for anyone who's interested, I extracted DBFilesClient\CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc from patch-enUS.MPQ with MWCS, went into with DBC editor, went to id 60 and across to field4, and changed 1.0 to .8, pressed enter, then save. I packed it then just used it w/ the main mpq. It scaled it down by that % and it worked great for me. I don't really know why it's not working for other people, I guess it's more complicated. Maybe something to do w/ the localization.

The localization might have been it, I use an EU client on a US server.

Followed your instructions up to the 'input pathname of file to be' point. Now I'm not sure what to do; where's that option? Maybe I'm just feeling slow after 30 hours of no sleep.
