    Priest mind control guide

Before you read this guide know that this is not for an experienced player, but either a fairly new player, or an inexperienced priest i do not want people flaming me that this is common knowledge.

This is a guide on how to mind control as a priest, it will go through the technique, and where mind controlling is useful.

Mind control is a very useful skill that helps out in many instance runs. it can be used as an extra healer, a buffer, dps and if needed crowd control (usually only if your desperate)

First of all mind control has a MASSIVE amount of threat, and you will most likely instantly take agro if the target resists or breaks you will get agro. It is usually a good idea to have your tank to be ready to take agro off of you.

Now for the technique: There are many advantages to having the ability to mind control, and the first one im going to talk about is your ability to kill any 1 mob. To do this you first mind control a mob and let him attack another mob. Tell your tank or any one in your party not to pull until the mob that you mind controlled has been killed. Your mob will almost always die because mind control debuffs them with 25% less attack speed. Note, you cannot loot a mob killed this way. Thanks shade599

The second technique is the mind control heal: This is useful in many instances where there is a mob healer. You mind control it, and use it as a healer for your party. This doesnt just give you free heals, but prevents the rest of the mobs from being healed. Sometimes the healer can also buff, and it is helpful if you buff your party with their spells.

The last technique is the most fun, the pvp technique: In warsong gulch it is incredibly helpful if you can mind control their flag runner and run them into the red portal that removes you from the game. Also, it helps if you can mind control the best geared person guarding their flag and use it to kill everyone around him.

In arathi basin it is useful to make people drowned themselves in the mote near the bs. (this will not fully drowned them, but it will get them around half way, and 5 out of 10 times they will be confused and just stay there) Also, jumping off of the lumber mill does a bit of damage. Another thing that is fun to make them jump off of the blacksmith into the mine if you have them mine because it damages them and then their enemies will kill them.

In aleritic valley the only things that i know of are running them into a boss room thus killing them.

In Eye of the Storm you can throw someone off the edge of the world killing them but giving no honor. Its just a nice way to anoy them and get them out of your teams way.
~They can be thrown off any side of the 2 bridges, but can only be thrown off the eastern side of the flag landbridge.
~Be carefull when tossing warriors off ledges because they can charge back if you break the MC to soon.

Mind controlling in 2v2 can provide an excellent croud controll and if you get the right class, you can even use the opponent to get a few hits off on their opponent.
~Or in any arena team on the BE map you can toss melee off the bridge giving you extra time to do stuff.

Now for solo use: There is not much you can do with mind control while grinding or questing other then mind controlling in mid fight against a healer to heal your self.

Duel someone of the opposite faction (by selecting them and typing /duel) and toss them into Gurabashi arena (or the two outland ones) and this will flag them so that your friends can kill them.

Also you can can Mind Control bm hunters and kill their pets

extra notes: Ty garzahd and JGM288
Astromages in Mechanar are very effective at killing stuff with their flame shield.
    - Bloodwarder Menders in Botanica have a nice +dmg buff that can go on anyone in your party.
    - Cabal Acolytes in Shadow Labs have a nice shadow absorption buff for your whole party.
    - Cabal Shadow Priests in Shadow Labs (heroic) do obscene amounts of damage; ~1800 dps takes out those packs in Blackheart's room really fast. In nonheroic their damage is good but not nearly as noteworthy.
    - Most Aldor guards in Shattrath can be MCed; you can use them to banish other guards from the city. Hilarious but not really productive.
If any 1 has any other ideas plz tell me so i can add them

A useful reminder: You cannot loot mobs that are killed this way

Keep in mind MC breaks if you run the victim more than 20 yds away. Unless they're foolishly hiding near the red portal, this is unlikely to work.

In arathi basin it is useful to make people drowned themselves in the mote near the bs.
MC only lasts 10 seconds in pvp, it takes longer than that to drown someone. Running someone off the lumber mill is awesome though. (be careful, there are a couple rare scenarios where they can land on tiny ledges halfway down, and still have LOS to kill flag defenders)

Specific mobs of note for MCing:

"Note, you cannot loot a mob killed this way"
You can if you make even 1 damage to that mob.

I find that with all the ways to get out of CC in pvp today you will be lucky if you don't have to use MC 3-4 times to succeed in getting them.

Some other fun things to do with MC in pvp:

    2. Duel someone of the opposite faction (by selecting them and typing /duel) and toss them into Gurabashi arena (or the two outland ones) and this will flag them so that your friends can kill them.

    3. This dosn't happen lots but i like to MC hunters and have them kill their own pets

    4. Mind controlling in 2v2 can provide an excellent croud controll and if you get the right class, you can even use the opponent to get a few hits off on their opponent.
~Or in any arena team on the BE map you can toss melee off the bridge giving you extra time to do stuff.
